Fud Goes Maximum Catfishing! TV~

On Monday 2-17-2014 i set out for Guntersville, AL to fish with Jonathon Herndon on his new show Maximum Catfishing which will air on WFN (World Fishing Network) starting in October. He is currently filming season 1. I know he has had Bill Dance on an episode and many other great well known fishermen in the catfish world so it was a great honor to be on the show.

The plan was to get down there Monday and film Tues & Wed . The camera man (Troy Jens) called and asked if it was possible to start filming on Wed & Thur instead due to the wind on Tues being pretty bad. I was of course down to stay another day and fish lol.

Gary Turner showed up a few hours after i did and we went out to fish. We tried to catch bait for awhile without much luck then fished for a little while only catching a few smaller blues. On Tuesday we went out to prefish and right off the bat i catch my personal best blue 64lbs. Gary Turner filmed most of the fight then had to come help land it. Here is the video. 

Wednesday we set out and picked up the camera man (Troy Jens) for the first time at a different boat ramp on the lake. The wind was still a bit of a problem so we tried to hit some large mountain walls that were wind breaks to see if we marked what Jonathon calls “His People” meaning good sized catfish. We found multiple spots where we marked good fish but had no luck catching anything.

Thursday the same start by picking up Troy the camera man and heading to some of the spots we marked fish the day before. Today there was a little more current and Jonathon thought it may turn the bite on a little better. It was a little better as we ended up catching a few fish this day.

One of the spots Jonathon marked out on the river we decided to use the Minn Kota IPilot anchor lock over them and drop bait in their face. We landed a very decent 35lb blue doing this. Here is that Video.

We caught a few other fish this day and headed back to house to rest up for my long drive home in the morning. I had an amazing time with Jonathon and Gary and i hope to be back for season 2 maybe for some great Flathead action!
