8-3-2013 Whiskey City @ Tanners Creek

Hello all, This whiskey city tournament i fished with my son Brandon Wallace. There was 5 boats that showed up. We got there a bit later than i would have liked as i tried to find a partner all the way to the last minute. I brought 3 bluegill and only frozen skipjack for bait. We had a hard time finding the shad but got about 3-4 good sized ones. We decided to drift because of the lack of live bait. We drifted the main stretch from the casino down to Tanners with nothing but a few small blues like 1lb and a small channel. We then went to around Aurora and anchored up and ended catching an 10-12lb flathead and a 6 or so lb channel. Both on live bluegill 2 of the only 3 i had. We moved about 4 more times over the next few hours but couldnt get much of anything. We caught about 10 fish but many was the very small blues. Our total weight was 19.8 lbs and probably put us in 4 or last place. First place was Justin Browning with 80-90 lbs total. As much as i like the competition and the Ohio i dont think i can fish many more of this tournament as its only getting about 5 boats to each one and they only pay out first and all of the other guys dont live but 10 minutes or so away and im driving 2 hours and fifteen minutes one way.
