5-31-2014 ICA Jeffersonville (Night)

5-31-2014 Jeffersonville (Moved from New Albany due to closed ramp.

We left the previous tourney and headed for this tourney and stopped and got gas and ate lunch at the Waffle House in Clarksville. We got to the ramp and started working on my motor. We figured out i had somehow got a bunch of water in my fuel. We tried to work some of it out and get it to work at least for this tourney.

When they told us to go the boat died almost immediately and we had to take the cowl off and try to get more water out again. We got it running and i tried running it full throttle for about 10 minutes to try and work it though the system. I hoped this was not going to be the start of another bad time on the water.

We had a bit of  trouble all night with the motor but it made it though for us.

We fished 2 spots for about 45 minutes each before we found the sweet spot we ended up in all night.

The sweet spot was in 35′ water with ledges all around it. We caught Flatheads, Blues and Channel cats in this spot and on a regular basis. It seemed like the barge bite really was working for us every barge netted us a bite or a fish all night long. We did lose a few fish that would have put us up around the first place weight.

But we ended out the night with a very decent 60.2 lbs and a trifecta ( one of each species for bonus points). This was good enough for 6th place. I did hope it would be good enough for top 5.
