3/16/2013 ICA Turtle Creek
So this is the biggest ICA tournament of the year because of the large pot and $10 entry fee. There was 106 boats in this tournament. It is a hot water lake from the Hoosier Energy plant. It is mainly small channel cats with reports of some very large flatheads.
I fished this tourney with my wife Brandy Wallace. I did not pre fish and had never fished this lake before. I researched it on the web and Google earthed it for a few days coming up with my game plan. Which was to go to the northwest part of the lake hoping it was warmer water and shallower which it was. I soon realized that even my small 5/0 hooks may still be too big for these cats. And nightcrawlers were the bait of choice.
We caught 9 channel cats out of a limit of 10 with a total weight of 10.02 lbs first place was only 20lbs so this shows the very small differences in weight in between.
Here is a video of the boats getting launched from my good friend Hector.
