3-29-2014 ICA Petersburg

3-29-2014 The ICA held its first points tourney of the year at Petersburg, IN on the White River.

Daniel Lux was my partner and we both showed up a day early to scout the area. On our scouting we both agreed on a plan for the next day. The water was up and moving.

On the day of the tourney we ran to our first spot and not a single person came the way we did. I told him man they must know something we don’t. We ran up river for a good 10-15 miles stopping at random spots we marked the day before. We had caught 2 small blues. Near the end we decided to make the run back down river and fish an old dam a little. Did that and didnt catch anything else.

We made the wrong call to avoid the warmer water and the faster current. The top places of this tourney for the most part were won by boating 25+ miles away.

I was a bit disappointed in our first showing but felt we did learn a few things from it.

13th place out of 25 boats. Right in the middle of the pack.
