2/9/2014 Whiskey City Tanners Creek

2/9/2014 Whiskey City had a tournament on Tanners Creek.

I fished with Scott Wiseman. Water temp was 39-40 degrees. Our logic was the fish would be deep. We headed up river to some pre planned spots but just could not get on any fish. We tried in deep holes up in the tributaries and misc spots that looked good on the way back. Our plan was to fish half the day for Bigger Blues and if that wasnt working to target some channels for the 2nd half. We knew that with the club we was fishing channel cats most likely would not get us in the money but you never know. Every team but us are locals to the Ohio River. And Whiskey City only holds tournaments at that one place. So those guys have a major advantage on us. We found a few channels in the 2nd half of the tourney and ended up with 11.3 lbs and that put is in 7th place out of 12 boats. From what we heard the bite was working with tiny pieces of cut bait and most bites being like nibbles that you would have to reel down on the slightest hint of.
