10-19-2013 ICA Final Points Tourney @ Geist

So the Final points tournament came and i had never fished at Geist before. I checked it out on the lake map i have and google earth and came up with the game plan to go a little ways down from the launch and just start drifting. Within the first hour i had a double hook up. So i worked the area for a good 20 more drifts and had bites but could not seem to hook up so i moved around the area. I found a cove and on the first drift in it i got a nice 8lb channel. The weeds were bad in the lake so it was pretty much me trying to stay in 8-35ft of water. And the fish were in all the depths it seemed. I drifted the cove for a good deal longer but just could not get anything else to hit. The day was wet, rainy,windy and cold. About 1-2pm the rain stopped luckily. But my fingers had been frozen so bad they hurt for a good 4-5 days. I decided that the next day at the classic i need to do something different so i decided to see if the other part of the lake with the deeper water and near the dam was were they was. We ended this last tournament in 15th place out of 17 so not good at all considering one of the teams below us really had 3rd place and big fish but got DQd for some dumb crap.
